Brent O’Mara, AIF®, CFS®

Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor

Brent joined WealthPlan in 2000 as a Wealth Advisor. His unceasing drive to help his clients better their lives through financial planning and smart investing quickly made him one of the organization’s most important members.

In 2014, Brent became a partner at Feltz WealthPlan to help convert the RIA to a growth platform and recruit like-minded advisors. Since then, the firm has grown from $700 million to $2.8 billion in assets under management.

Brent’s passion for his clients flows into the rest of his life as well. He supports many charitable causes in the Omaha community, including Playsmart, Angels Among Us, Make a Wish, the Susan Komen Foundation, American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society. He’s also a die-hard Nebraska football fan and enjoys being active in youth sports with his wife, Erin, and their three children.

Before joining WPP, Wade worked in the medical industry helping businesses and patients improve their physical wellness. Since 2006, Wade and his team have helped WPP’s companies and foundation clients with their financial wellness. His team consists of “prudent experts” acting as fiduciaries, concentrating their expertise on working with company retirement plans, plan participants, foundations and their committees.

WPP advisors can introduce Wade’s specialized team as one of their own partners. Advisors who lacked the resources, experience or knowledge to grow their retirement plan or foundation client base in the past can now grow with a team of professionals on their side – their own retirement plan or foundation “specialist team.”

Marc Geels

Marc serves as Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor at WealthPlan Group since 2024, where he plays a key role in shaping the firm’s private wealth management division. With deep expertise in advising ultra-high-net-worth clients, Marc focuses on delivering tailored financial strategies for entrepreneurs, founders, and investors.

Marc currently oversees the operations of the EFS regional office and collaborates with leadership to enhance the firm’s private wealth offerings. He is also actively involved in recruiting and coaching advisors, developing strategic growth initiatives, and identifying acquisition opportunities. His leadership helps drive WealthPlan’s mission to provide sophisticated, client-centric financial solutions.

Patrick Brewer, CFA

Partner and Chief Executive Officer

Patrick Brewer serves as Chief Executive Officer of WealthPlan Group, leading the firm’s strategic vision, growth initiatives, and advisor platform development. With nearly two decades of experience in financial services, Patrick brings deep expertise in wealth management, investment strategy, and business leadership.

Prior to WealthPlan, he founded and scaled several companies supporting financial advisors, including two wealth management firms, a marketing consultancy, and a practice management platform.

As a CFA charterholder and CPA (Inactive), Patrick combines technical rigor with practical business acumen. He is focused on building a national RIA platform that empowers advisors through operational scale, investment flexibility, and a client-first service model.

Jim Nagengast

Board Member

Jim is a seasoned financial services professional with over 30 years of industry leadership. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Securities America from 2010 to 2024, holding key roles such as CFO and COO. Under his leadership, the firm grew significantly, strengthening its position as a top independent broker-dealer.

In 2018, Jim made history as the first petition candidate elected to the FINRA Board of Governors for a large-firm seat. He holds an MBA in accounting and finance from Columbia Business School and an A.B. in economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard University. His expertise and strategic vision make him a valuable asset to our board.
